Homer is an augmented reality app concept that enables fans to relive the most iconic home runs in baseball history.
While it’s easy enough to watch videos of home runs, nothing quite compares to the excitement of seeing one rocket out of the park in person. Homer explores a new way of leveraging AR technology to capture that excitement. With Homer, baseball fanatics have a rich history of home runs at their fingertips that they can view in the same place they were actually hit. It’s the next best thing to being there.

Calibration
Homer uses the phone’s camera and location permissions to plot home runs across the stadium true to where they actually landed. Users scan the field to calibrate the app, then look around to view and select a home run they want to view.

A dedicated browsing page allows users to discover the expanse of home runs hit at their home stadium. It features the latest home runs and breaks down the rest of the collection into clear categories to encourage users’ browsing based on what piques their interest.

Once users select a home run, they are brought into the viewing experience. The path of the ball is drawn across the field relative to where they’re positioned. Additional stats like distance and height are included to illustrate the true scale of their favorite moment in baseball history.
